I have had the opportunity to use the SuiteMed’s IMS system in our medical clinic. It has been extremely helpful in my clinical practice. Much of what we do is based on elective procedures and, as such, we are required to provide documentation in order to gain approval for treatment. Initially I was with a group that had Alteer, the level of frustration that each physician in the group displayed with Alteer was unanimous and it was very clear that they had realized that they may have made a mistake by signing up with Alteer. The software was overly expensive and updates were once or twice a year and whenever we asked for an update we had to wait for a few months.


When I tried to switch to IMS I contacted Alteer and they wanted to charge me 50K to give me my data, the patient charts that belonged to me. SuiteMed helped me come up with a solution where I got all my patients' charts without paying a cent to Alteer and from day one IMS has been there to support my practice. When I need something changed with the IMS, it is not a matter of months before the programmers give me what I need but a matter of days. They have live help online 24 hours. IMS was implemented within our office back in June & 2006. I cannot express how much the IMS electronic medical records software has changed our office operations. SuiteMed’s IMS has proven to be instrumental in improving organization tracking and scheduling as well as being an excellent documentation tool for Patient encounters. Simple tasks such as searching for MRIs or specific past reports in the patient’s document is a breeze compared to a previous paper chart searching for 5-10 minutes. Ability to pull up and view pop up reports and images such as fluoroscopy reports for us is super. I find that my charting is completed and easily tracked and I can usually get all of my documentation done before I leave for that day with the confidence that my billing is also completed. I have integrated speech recognition (Dragon Pro not included) into the documentation boxes so that transcription cost is zero. Instrumental to the selection of IMS was the Support at insuring the integration of speech recognition with the IMS and I feel this will be the future of Medical Records input. At this point both programs are working seamlessly which have not only proven to be efficient but also cost-effective. The powerful future of SuiteMed’s IMS of simultaneously faxing to multiple parties is essential and integral to our large practice which has also been quite cost-effective. Another very impressive feature is the ability to track and send requests to our authorizations department, which ensures that requested procedures, referrals, and surgeries are followed up and an authorization is obtained in a timely manner..

Ever since we started our practice using IMS system, we have come a long way. It produces a better workflow within our company and developed a more open communication between departments. On billing standpoint, charges are more tracked accurately and leaves no room for missing a charge, you can get the claims out the door within the two to three day turnaround due to availability of information, resulting to a better cash flow and revenue.
